Board of Directors
The Maryland Municipal League is governed by a 31 member Board of Directors comprised of elected and appointed officials from throughout the state. The composition of the Board includes: president, first vice president, past president, 11 district vice presidents, 10 members at large, and 7 department representatives. Board members are elected at the Maryland Municipal League's annual business meeting in June and serve one-year terms. The Board meets six times during the year unless a special meeting is called.

 | | District 3 Vice President. Mayor Sheila Dixon succeeded Mayor Martin O'Malley as Mayor of Baltimore on January 17, 2007 and was elected to a full four-year term in November of 2007, the first woman ever to hold this position. Member, Baltimore City Council for 12 years and the first African-American woman elected as City Council President. One of Baltimore's Most Influential Leaders by the Baltimore Business Journal, and admitted to The Daily Record's Circle of Excellence for her third selection as one of "Maryland's Top 100 Women" and serves on numerous boards, including MML. Holds a bachelor's degree from Towson University, a master's degree from Johns Hopkins University and is a former elementary school teacher and adult education instructor with the Head Start program. |
