Stimulus Package/ARRA Update: Where to Find the Latest Information

Federal Police Aid Funding Update:

For information on funding granted to Maryland municipalities through the U.S. Department of Justice's Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (Byrne JAG) program, visit the Governor's Office of Crime Control and Prevention (GOCCP) website at http://www.goccp.maryland.gov/. The website provides information on both direct federal allocations and ARRA funding distributed through the GOCCP. You'll also find the latest information on funding allocated through the COPS Hiring Recovery Program.

Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) Program:

For a list of those municipalities receiving direct EECBG funding through ARRA, check out the U.S. Department of Energy's EECBG program page at: http://www.eecbg.energy.gov/grantalloc.html. Information related to the state of Maryland's plans for distributing an additional $52 million to help local governments move ahead with energy efficiency improvements can be found in Governor O'Malley's latest press release, which you'll find on the Maryland Energy Administration website at: http://www.energy.maryland.gov/documents/sepgrants_release81009.pdf.

Transportation Infrastructure Funding:

For information on how ARRA Transportation funding is being allocated in Maryland visit the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) website at:

Funding for Drinking Water and Clean Water Projects:

Earlier this year the Maryland Department of the Environment announced recipients of proposed grants and loans to be funded under the ARRA. For the latest on which water quality and drinking water projects have been designated for funding, as well as their status, visit the MDE website at:

Maryland's Recovery & Reinvestment Website

Don't forget, the Governor's Office now offers a one-stop site for all things related to funding and implementation of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) in the State of Maryland. Among the information relevant to Maryland's cities and towns includes links to funding opportunities, FAQs, webcasts of stimulus workshops, and the ability to sign up for regular e-mail updates.
